November 1994, the merchant ship "Trade Daring" was loading iron ore at Ponta da Madeira's Pier I.
The ship suffered an accident in the harbor and her hull was broke on two pieces (picture to the left).
For more than 30 days suction pumps, dredges, cutting devices and divers were used attempting rescuing the cargo and liberating the pier.
The Brazilian Maritime Authority implemented Regulation Number 04 for Bulk Carriers, improving significantly safety conditions in national waters.
RBNA engineers assisted the ship-owner on the calculations and on the development of the salvage procedures.
