Truck and logistic company Schencker BTL implemented a IT system for managing its fleet using Ericsson Mobitex and GPS. The company wanted to quantify the savings in order to decide if they should implement the system in other countries. They also wanted to financially quantify emission to air reduction

It was necessary to isolate the fuel saving and the emission to air reduction from the other factors in the system..

Indicators were created to monitor fuel and emission and then isolated in order to pinpoint the influence of the IT system in the fleet.
